    There are different types of custody arrangements for practically every type of divorce. Joint means that he doesn’t want you to have Sole or complete custody, perhaps this also means that he doesn’t have to pay child support because he shares custody (and financial obligations) with you. As far as how it will work, that is something you, him and your lawyers will have to iron out since he lives so far away. I’m sorry to hear about the dissolution of your divorce and I hope that the future holds greater things for you both.
