Can divorce settlements be used in a plea bargain in a criminal charge in Canada?

I’m not too familiar with this area but I would say it is definitely worth your while to talk about with whoever is representing you in court. I’m assuming that you have a court order which restricts him from coming near you, if not then you should. If he violates this I’m almost certain it would help your cause. The main thing to remember is that divorce’s do take time and if someone wills it, they can try to draw it out for some time.

You can ask to have your divorce settlement moved ahead on the calendar, but the spouse looking at the BE charge is not going to be in any hurry to accomodate you.
As far as using the divorce as a plea bargain, I cant see it. A divorce is a civil matter and the BE is a criminal matter. I cant see how a Judge would consider one to be considered as a form of relief for the other.
