my daughter has been living with me for the last 4 years Mon-friday with her mom having her on weekends. this was agreed on dispite the court order which grants joint custody. the mother has decided she wants joint back now. My daughter wants nothing to do with it. i need to get an attorney but i dont have the money right now. is there somewhere i can get help to finance the attorney?

    How about actually TALKING to her mom about it LEAVING it out of the courts;; you have no idea how bad this can become;; you need to look out for your child, NOT THE FIGHT;; you also sometimes need to do things your child might not want to do FOR THE SAKE of that child… make sense??

    Mon- Fri for you and weekends for her IS joint custody - If you have something in writing you need to abide by that. Otherwise you can go to family court without a lawyer and at no or little cost. Your daughter may be allowed a say in this in court if she is old enough. Different states have different age restrictions.

    You can try legal aid but they might not help. I would just file the papers at the courthouse yourself and go to court and fight your own case. It’s much cheaper.
